THE ORIGINAL ART & ITS STORY Ohara Koson (1877–1945) made Long-eared Owl on a Bare Branch, dated 1900–1930 by the Rijksmuseum. The original color woodcut places a long-eared owl on a leafless branch beside a waxing crescent moon. The artist’s delicate animal observation gives this small nocturnal scene its character.
